Together with participation in the exposition devoted to today’s exhibition industry, our Yekaterinburg guests will present a report “Development Prospects of the Yekaterinburg Exhibition Activities till 2020”.

Yekaterinburg, being one of the strongest economic, industrial, transport and scientific centres of Russia, has been named one of the contenders to host Expo 2020 with the Global Mind theme.

5ðÅÕÐÎ’2013 will feature a presentation called “World Expos: Role in Global Development. Russia’s Participation in World Expos”. The Forum organizers – the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Expocentre – are in talks about arranging presentations of Expo 2015 (Milan, Italy) and Expo 2017 (Astana, Kazakhstan) in which Russia is going to participate.

World expos are global events where one can see all achievements of the humankind and discuss development trends and solutions. These events bring together over 100 participating countries and tens of millions of visitors.

The Yekaterinburg Administration believes that Expo would open doors for additional investments and investment opportunities for the country as well as for the region and the city.

“I can’t say that activities of expos are well known in this country. This discussion will be interesting to a wide circle of specialists, journalists and businessmen,” said Nikolai Bugaev, Deputy General Director of Expocentre.

The key topics of 5ðÅÕÐÎ’2013 are to be discussed during the panel discussion “Focus of Government Attention: Exhibition Business” and the round table “Investment in Exhibition Facilities. Principles of Locating Regional Exhibition Venues Using Mechanisms of Public-Private Partnership”. These discussions will be moderated by authors of a concept of development of exhibition and congress activities in the Russian Federation as well as representatives of interested ministries, departments, regional administrations, regional chambers of commerce and industry.

The accompanying events of 5ðÅÕÐÎ’2013 will welcome over 1 000 Russian experts, government and business representatives as well as their overseas colleagues.

The organizers intend that one of the main topics of the Forum is to attract attention of ministries, industry associations, regional administrations, representatives of business, science and culture to new exhibition technologies, and to familiarize them with resources and potential of the Russian exhibition and congress industry.
